acosRIPControl
Module: ACOS-MIB
OID (symbolic): ACOS-MIB::acosRIPControl
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2221.1.1.9.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This object enables or disables the Routing Information Protocol (RIP) for the box.
What is acosRIPControl?
This read-write field enables or disables the Routing Information Protocol (RIP) daemon on the equipment, controlling whether it learns routes dynamically from neighbors. Network engineers toggle this to activate RIP for automatic route discovery, or disable it when using static routes or other routing protocols. A value of "enabled" activates RIP routing so the device automatically learns and advertises routes; "disabled" turns off all RIP activity.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2221.1.1.9.2 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ACOS-MIB::acosRIPControl
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2221.1.1.9.2.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ACOS-MIB::acosRIPControl.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2221.1.1.9.2.1 i <value>
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> acosRIPControl.1
