atmEtherCnfgAllocatedBuffers
Module: ACE20-MIB
OID (symbolic): ACE20-MIB::atmEtherCnfgAllocatedBuffers
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.12.4.3.4.2.1.20
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-create
Description: This object enables user to limit the amount of buffers used by the connection. The limit set by this object will give the effect of a virtual buffer pool per connection. The user can allocate between 10 to 217 buffers to every connection. By default the limit is 50 buffers. Sum of limits allocated to all connections must not exceed the total amount of available buffers. Whenever a connection exceeds it's buffer limit due to congestion or burst traffic is discarded
What is atmEtherCnfgAllocatedBuffers?
This OID controls how many packet buffers (between 10 and 217) are reserved for this specific bridge, creating a virtual buffer pool that prevents one congested bridge from starving others. You tune this value based on traffic volume and packet sizes, allocating more buffers to high-priority or bursty connections. Setting it to 100 reserves 100 buffer slots for this bridge, with a system default of 50.
