This OID stores the high alarm threshold for received optical power in milliwatts (0–6.5535 mW, approximately -40 to +8.2 dBm), where the receiver becomes saturated or damaged above this level. Too much incoming light blinds the photodiode and breaks the link; this alarm prevents receiver damage. A value of 60000 (6.0 mW or roughly +8 dBm) triggers an alarm if the far end transmits too powerfully into this interface.
