Description: This is a count of the good broadcast packets received by this port. A good broadcast packet is a normally sized packet (64 to maxsize bytes) that is received without error, a good CRC, no PHY or FIFO errors. Broadcast packets are identified by a destination address of all 1's.
What is acdPortRxStatsBroadcastPkts?
This counts error-free packets sent to all devices on the network segment (destination address of all 1's). Engineers monitor broadcast traffic to detect broadcast storms, which can severely degrade network performance if packets accumulate faster than devices can process them. If this counter jumps to 1,000,000 in a single day, you may have a broadcast flood causing network degradation.
