Description: A value that identifies the set of port capabilities to advertise during auto-negociation. Each bit indicates whether or not the specific capability is valid on the system.
What is acdPortConfigAdvertisement?
This OID is a set of flags indicating which port capabilities (10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 1000 Mbps, etc.) the port will advertise during auto-negotiation, and you can read and change it. Engineers use this to restrict which speeds a port will accept, for example to prevent a port from ever dropping below 1 Gbps if attached to a peer that might request 100 Mbps. For example, disabling the 10 and 100 Mbps bits ensures the port advertises only 1000 and 10000 Mbps options.
