This OID stores the near-end packet loss ratio as an extended precision value (0–100,000,000), where the actual percentage is the value divided by 1,000,000. Network engineers use this metric to evaluate the quality of service from the sender to the measurement point, helping identify degradation on the incoming path. A value of 1500000 indicates 1.5% packet loss on the near-end, which would trigger SLA review if thresholds are 1% or less.
