This counter tracks the number of messages dropped on Port 1 because the guard timer was active, stored as an unsigned 32-bit integer. Engineers monitor this to ensure ring protection is working correctly and preventing message flooding during transitions. A value of 15 means 15 messages were deliberately discarded to protect the network during a protection event.
