What is accXnsNoSockets?

This counter tracks packets that arrived but could not be delivered because no receiving application was listening on the destination socket. Network engineers check this to detect unhandled traffic or misconfigured services that are not accepting expected connections. For example, a value of 45 indicates 45 packets were discarded due to no listening socket, which might point to a crashed service or misconfigured port.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.21.5.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ACC-XNS::accXnsNoSockets

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.21.5.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ACC-XNS::accXnsNoSockets.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> accXnsNoSockets.1
