This counter reports all set-initialization-mode (SIM) frames transmitted to the adjacent link station since startup, initialized to zero at boot. SIM frames reset link state and resynchronize both peers during recovery. Frequent outgoing SIM frames (e.g., 10+ per hour) indicate the local station is repeatedly initiating resets, suggesting instability or repeated remote failures.
