This counter reflects the total request-initialization-mode (RIM) frames received from the adjacent link station since startup, starting at zero. RIM frames ask the local station to begin initialization; the remote peer sends RIM when it needs to reset and resynchronize. High RIM counts suggest the remote station frequently needs to recover from errors.
