Category: Vendor: H3C/HH3C

Description: Manages Selective Route Manipulation (SRM) or System Resource Management on H3C/3Com devices, providing resource allocation and policy routing controls.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is A3COM-HUAWEI-SRM-MIB?

A3COM-HUAWEI-SRM-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB jointly attributed to 3Com and Huawei (from their former H3C joint venture) covering Selective Route Manipulation or system resource management functionality on H3C/3Com network devices. Because no sample objects are available in this batch, its precise object structure cannot be confirmed, but its name and lineage indicate it governs resource allocation, route selection, or policy-routing controls at the device level. Such management typically touches configuration state rather than raw hardware telemetry, though SRM-style MIBs sometimes surface resource utilization or policy-application status as an indirect signal of system health. It is part of the broader family of H3C/3Com private MIBs and likely depends on core routing MIB conventions (e.g., ipCidrRouteTable-style structures) for context. It would be deployed on 8060-series and related H3C/3Com routing platforms managed via SNMP. Engineers can download the A3COM-HUAWEI-SRM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in A3COM-HUAWEI-SRM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C/3Com routers
  • 8060-series routing platforms

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided for this MIB, so a concrete monitoring scenario referencing real object names cannot be constructed; based on the module description, it likely governs selective route or resource manipulation policy configuration on the device rather than exposing a rich set of pollable runtime tables.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using hw8060DevMRpuTemperature OID:

Select a Huawei 8060-series router (legacy) as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type hw8060DevMRpuTemperature into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, then select it and click OK. This variable indicates the temperature of RPU. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an Integer32-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the reported value exceeds the level expected for healthy operation, since sustained high temperature often precedes thermal shutdown or hardware degradation. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
