accessSwitchMaintenance

Module: ZYXEL-accessSwitch-MIB

OID (symbolic): ZYXEL-accessSwitch-MIB::accessSwitchMaintenance

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.890.1.5.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The managed object is for system maintenance. When the EMS wants to trigger the system maitenance operation, the EMS shall send SNMP-SET message to set the corresponding bit value to be 1. The various bit positions are: BIT 1: config save BIT 2: reset BIT 3: local loopback test BIT 4: remote loopback test

What is accessSwitchMaintenance?

This read-write INTEGER is a bitmask control for triggering system maintenance operations: bit 1 saves configuration, bit 2 resets the device, bit 3 runs a local loopback test, and bit 4 runs a remote loopback test, per the DESCRIPTION's instruction that an EMS sets the corresponding bit to 1 to trigger that operation. An admin (or an EMS) writes the appropriate bit here to remotely save config, reset the switch, or run a diagnostic loopback test. Setting bit 2 in accessSwitchMaintenance triggers a device reset without the admin needing physical or console access.
