zyMvrPortRole

Module: ZYXEL-MVR-MIB

OID (symbolic): ZYXEL-MVR-MIB::zyMvrPortRole

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.890.1.15.3.55.1.3.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Specify the roles on the port. None(1), Set the port not to participate in MVR. No MVR multicast traffic is sent or received on this port. Source Port(2), Set the port as the MVR source port that sends and receives multicast traffic. All source ports must belong to a single multicast VLAN. Receiver Port(3), Set the port as a receiver port that only receives multicast traffic.

What is zyMvrPortRole?

This read-write object sets the role of a port within this multicast VLAN's MVR configuration: none for non-participating ports, sourcePort for ports connected to the multicast source, typically an upstream router or headend, or receiverPort for ports serving end-user multicast clients. Admins configure sourcePort only on the uplink or uplinks toward the multicast feed and receiverPort on client-facing access ports, letting MVR efficiently replicate multicast streams only to the ports that need them. Setting zyMvrPortRole to receiverPort(3) on a set-top-box-facing access port lets that port receive the multicast VLAN's IPTV streams without needing to be a tagged member of the multicast VLAN itself.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.890.1.15.3.55.1.3.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ZYXEL-MVR-MIB::zyMvrPortRole

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.890.1.15.3.55.1.3.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ZYXEL-MVR-MIB::zyMvrPortRole.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.890.1.15.3.55.1.3.1.1.1 i <value>
