What is portInBroadcastPktsPeak?
This read-only counter reports the highest 1-minute broadcast packet rate, in packets per minute, observed on this port's inbound direction since tracking began or was last cleared. An admin monitors this to catch broadcast storms, since a sudden spike in this peak value on an access port is a classic early symptom of a Layer 2 loop or misbehaving host. For example, a portInBroadcastPktsPeak far exceeding normal levels on one access port points to that segment as the likely source of a broadcast storm.
