Module: ZTE-AN-EPON-SERVICE-MIB

OID (symbolic): ZTE-AN-EPON-SERVICE-MIB::dot3EponFecCorrectedBlocks

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3902.1082.500.31.4.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter64

Access: read-only

Description: For 10PASS-TS, 2BASE-TL and 1000BASE-PX PHYs it is a count of corrected FEC blocks. This counter will not increment for other PHY Types. Increment the counter by one for each received block that is corrected by the FEC function in the PHY. This object is applicable for an OLT and an ONU. At the OLT it has a distinct value for each virtual interface. Discontinuities of this counter can occur at re-initialization of the management system, and at other times as indicated by the value of the ifCounterDiscontinuityTime object of the Interface MIB module.

What is dot3EponFecCorrectedBlocks?

This read-only 64-bit counter reports the number of FEC blocks that were successfully corrected by the PHY's forward error correction function on 10PASS-TS, 2BASE-TL, or 1000BASE-PX interfaces, and does not increment when FEC is disabled or unsupported. An admin monitors it to gauge how much the optical link is relying on FEC to maintain error-free operation. For example, a steadily increasing corrected-blocks count, even without service disruption, signals a degrading optical signal that FEC is currently compensating for but that should be addressed proactively.
