What is alarmType?

This is a notification-only string, up to 64 bytes, naming the type of entity, such as a port, card, or system, on which the alarm condition occurred. An admin uses this to quickly classify what kind of managed object triggered the fault, helping route or prioritize the alarm without inspecting the shelf/slot/port details individually. For example, alarmType might contain "ONT" or "xDSL Port" to indicate the alarm originated from that class of equipment.
