What is alarmDeviceName?

This is a notification-only string, up to 255 bytes, giving the human-readable name of the device that generated the alarm. An admin uses this friendly name, alongside alarmDevice's IP address, to quickly recognize which network element is reporting the fault without needing to look up a hostname-to-IP mapping. For example, alarmDeviceName might contain "DSLAM-CentralOffice3" identifying the specific unit that raised the alarm.
