zhIpCidrRouteProto

Module: ZHONE-COM-IP-ROUTE-MIB

OID (symbolic): ZHONE-COM-IP-ROUTE-MIB::zhIpCidrRouteProto

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5504.4.1.7.3.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The routing mechanism via which this route was learned. Inclusion of values for gateway rout- ing protocols is not intended to imply that hosts should support those protocols.

other -- not specified local -- local interface netmgmt -- static route icmp -- result of ICMP Redirect

The following are all dynamic routing protocols

rip -- Berkeley RIP or RIP-II isIs -- Dual IS-IS ospf -- Open Shortest Path First bgp -- Border Gateway Protocol idpr -- InterDomain Policy Routing

What is zhIpCidrRouteProto?

This read-only object reports which routing mechanism supplied this route: a local interface, a static, netmgmt, entry, an ICMP redirect, or a dynamic routing protocol such as RIP, IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, or IDPR. Admins use it to distinguish statically configured routes from dynamically learned ones, useful when troubleshooting why a particular route exists or determining which routing protocol to investigate if that route seems wrong. A zhIpCidrRouteProto of bgp(14) tells the admin this route was learned via BGP from an external peer rather than configured statically or learned from an internal IGP.
