zhIpCidrRouteMetric2

Module: ZHONE-COM-IP-ROUTE-MIB

OID (symbolic): ZHONE-COM-IP-ROUTE-MIB::zhIpCidrRouteMetric2

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5504.4.1.7.3.1.11

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: An alternate routing metric for this route. The semantics of this metric are determined by the routing-protocol specified in the route's ipCidrRouteProto value. If this metric is not used, its value should be set to -1.

What is zhIpCidrRouteMetric2?

This read-write object reports an alternate routing metric for this route, again with protocol-specific meaning determined by zhIpCidrRouteProto, and set to -1 when unused. Admins use it, along with zhIpCidrRouteMetric3 through 5, when a routing protocol reports more than one metric dimension for a route, such as tie-breaking values, giving a fuller picture than the single primary metric alone. A routing protocol using multiple metric dimensions for path selection might populate zhIpCidrRouteMetric2 with a secondary tie-breaking value the admin can inspect alongside zhIpCidrRouteMetric1.
