An entry exists for each IP interface in the system. At a mininum the ifIndex, either ipIfLowerIfIndex or ipIfLgId (not both) and a valid IP address configuration are required for row creation.

These are valid IP address configurations:

1. Dynamically configured IP address ipIfDhcp set to client or both

2. Statically configured non-point-to-point IP address ipIfAddr, ipIfNetMask, and ipIfBcast must be provided. ipIfAddr and ipIfBcastAddr must be in the same subnet determined by ipIfNetMask

3. Statically configured point-to-point IP address ipIfAddr, ipIfDestAddr, ipIfNetMask, ipIfPointToPoint, and ipIfBcastEnabled must be provided. ipIfNetMask must be 255.255.255.255, ipIfPointToPoint must be true and ipIfBcastEnabled must be false.
