mdmCtlResetModemThresh

Module: XYLO-MODEM-MIB

OID (symbolic): XYLO-MODEM-MIB::mdmCtlResetModemThresh

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.15.2.100.4.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: After every configurable number (as specified by the modem_reset_threshold parameter) of consecutive failures on a modem, it will be reset. This will not affect the consecutive failure count which is already maintained for the modem_error_threshold Annex parameter, thereby working independent of the modem_error_threshold Annex parameter. This means that even though the modem will be reset, after every modem_reset_threshold consecutive failures, it will be put out of service when the number of consecutive modem failures exceeds the value specified by the modem_error_threshold paramter.

What is mdmCtlResetModemThresh?

This read-write integer (1-65535) sets how many consecutive call failures on a modem must occur before that modem is automatically reset, independent of the separate modem_error_threshold parameter that governs taking a modem out of service. An admin tunes this to control how aggressively the system self-heals flaky modems versus how quickly it gives up and marks them failed. Setting this to 5 means a modem failing five calls in a row gets reset automatically, even though it may still be pulled out of service later if failures continue past modem_error_threshold.
