mdmCtlReset

Module: XYLO-MODEM-MIB

OID (symbolic): XYLO-MODEM-MIB::mdmCtlReset

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.15.2.100.4.3.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Does hardware reset on a specific modem. Executing this object will end any current session on the modem. However this object will not read or change the modem configuration. Reading this object will always return ready(1). This object is similar to NA/admin command 'reset int_modem modem#'. This object obsoletes the object anxpModemReset.

What is mdmCtlReset?

This read-write enumerated control object, set to execute(2), performs a hardware reset on the single modem identified by mdmNumber, ending any current session on it but leaving its configuration unchanged; it obsoletes the older anxpModemReset object. An admin uses this to recover one hung modem without affecting the rest of the chassis, corresponding to the NA/admin command 'reset int_modem modem#'. Reading this object always returns ready(1), so a technician must explicitly set it to execute(2) to reset modem number 7, for instance.
