Module: XYLAN-POS3-MIB

OID (symbolic): XYLAN-POS3-MIB::sonetPortStatusChangeTrapEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.800.2.11.4.1.1.8

Description: Indicates whether traps should be generated for this interface.

What is sonetPortStatusChangeTrapEnable?

A read-write enumeration, defaulting to disabled, controlling whether the device generates traps when this SONET interface's status changes. This lets an admin choose to be proactively notified via SNMP trap whenever this specific port's operational state changes, rather than relying solely on polling, useful for critical SONET links where fast fault notification matters. An admin managing a critical backbone SONET link would enable this so they're immediately notified via trap if that port goes down.
