dsx3PortConfigTxTrailTraceID

Module: XYLAN-DS3-MIB

OID (symbolic): XYLAN-DS3-MIB::dsx3PortConfigTxTrailTraceID

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.800.2.11.2.1.1.12

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: The object indicates the characters to be inserted as Trail Trace Identifier of an E3 G.832 frame. This object only applies to E3 port whose framing is configured as G.832. A binary 0 in the first octet indicates all zeros insertion, or this port is not configured as E3 G.832 framing. Additionally if this object is not applicable, i.e. not E3 G.832, writing to this object will be silently ignored.

What is dsx3PortConfigTxTrailTraceID?

This read-write string (up to 15 characters) sets the Trail Trace Identifier this port transmits in a G.832-framed E3 signal; a binary zero in the first octet means all-zeros insertion or that the port isn't G.832-framed, and writes are silently ignored otherwise. An admin sets a site or circuit identifier here so the far end can verify it's connected to the expected E3 path.
