Description: The object reflects the value to be inserted in the payload type bits (bit 3,4,5 of Maintenance and Adaptation byte) of an E3 G.832 frame. This objects only applies to E3 port whose framing is configured as G.832. Additionally if this object is not applicable, i.e. not E3 G.832, writing to this object will be silently ignored.
What is dsx3PortConfigTxPayloadType?
This read-write setting selects the payload-type bits to transmit (bits 3-5 of the Maintenance and Adaptation byte) in an E3 G.832 frame, such as atm or equipped-non-specific; writes are silently ignored on a port not framed as G.832 E3. An admin sets this to atm when the port should advertise ATM cell payload to the far end over a G.832-framed E3 circuit.
