Category: Network Monitoring Platforms

Description: Monitors XM service daemon performance metrics including request rates, latency, and resource utilization.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is XMSERVD-PERF-MIB?

XMSERVD-PERF-MIB is a private proprietary MIB (enterprise OID 2, IBM-branch-adjacent) reporting system-wide CPU and real-memory performance statistics, likely collected by an 'xmservd' performance-monitoring daemon. Its objects cover system-wide CPU time in user/kernel/wait/idle modes (percent and tick counts), and detailed real-memory statistics — total size, free-frame count, non-computational/computational pages, local/client page counts and maximum, page-decay rate, system-repage rate, and extended free/pinned/computational/non-computational/local/client page counts and working-segment usage. As a performance MIB it lets an administrator watch CPU and memory pressure trends on the monitored system. It is deployed on systems running the xmservd performance-monitoring daemon. Engineers can download the XMSERVD-PERF-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in XMSERVD-PERF-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Systems running the xmservd performance-monitoring daemon

Monitoring Examples

An administrator monitors xmdCPUGlwait and xmdMemRealPdecay to watch for CPU wait-time and memory-paging pressure on a system running the xmservd performance daemon.

What Can Be Monitored
