Module: XEROX-COMMON-MIB

OID (symbolic): XEROX-COMMON-MIB::xcmCommsStackXrefHrCommDevIndex

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.253.8.61.7.2.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Cardinal32

Access: read-only

Description: The value of 'hrDeviceIndex' corresponding to the directly associated conceptual rows in the 'hrDeviceTable' and (possibly) 'hrNetworkTable' of the Host Resources MIB (RFC 2790), or zero if the position of this stack layer is NOT 'bottom' (ie, this stack layer does NOT represent a physical 'network interface'). Usage: Note that for 'hrDeviceModem', 'hrDeviceSerialPort', and 'hrDeviceParallelPort' devices, there is NO corresponding entry in the 'hrNetworkTable', a subtle difference between MIB-II (RFC 1213) and the Host Resources MIB (RFC 2790).

What is xcmCommsStackXrefHrCommDevIndex?

This object provides a link between Xerox communication stack layers and IETF Host Resources MIB device entries for physical network interfaces. When a stack layer occupies the bottom position (representing an actual physical network port), this value points to the corresponding hrDeviceIndex in the IETF standard Host Resources MIB. An operator uses this to cross-reference stack layer information with standard SNMP Host Resources device inventory data.
