xsecurityAdmin

Module: XEDIA-SECURITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): XEDIA-SECURITY-MIB::xsecurityAdmin

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.8.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The administrative status of the 'Security mechanism' in the router. The value 'enabled(1)' indicates that the appropriate security checks will be performed on all configured objects. The value 'disabled(2)' indicates that no security checks will be performed on any objects.

What is xsecurityAdmin?

This object globally enables or disables the router's object-level security-checking mechanism. When enabled, the device performs configured security checks on access to managed objects; when disabled, which is the default, no such checks are performed on any object. For example, an admin who wants to restrict which SNMP communities can read or write specific configuration objects would first set this to enabled(1) before configuring per-object security levels elsewhere in this MIB.
