agentInTimeWindowSize

Module: XEDIA-MIB

OID (symbolic): XEDIA-MIB::agentInTimeWindowSize

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.1.6.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The configured value for determining SNMPv3 packet timeliness. The standard 150 second window can be tuned below the standard value so that any replay attack will have even less impact on the nodes within the network. But, setting it too low could cause out of window errors, and additional clock sync.

What is agentInTimeWindowSize?

The SNMPv3 time window, in seconds, 1-150, default 150, used to judge whether an incoming packet is timely enough to accept; shrinking it below the RFC-standard 150 seconds narrows the window an attacker has to replay a captured packet, at the cost of more 'out of window' errors if clocks drift.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> XEDIA-MIB::agentInTimeWindowSize

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.1.6.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> XEDIA-MIB::agentInTimeWindowSize.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.1.6.3.1 i <value>
