ipsecSecurityProfileEncryption

Module: XEDIA-IPSEC-MIB

OID (symbolic): XEDIA-IPSEC-MIB::ipsecSecurityProfileEncryption

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.14.1.2.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Description: The encryption protocol. In the first release we support 'des(3)', 'des3(4)', and null(12)' only.

What is ipsecSecurityProfileEncryption?

This OID selects the encryption algorithm for a security profile: des, des3, or null (no encryption), defaulting to des. An engineer would set this to des3 for stronger encryption on a VPN profile handling sensitive traffic, or null for a profile that only needs authentication without confidentiality.
