xhdlcConfigCrcMode

Module: XEDIA-HDLC-MIB

OID (symbolic): XEDIA-HDLC-MIB::xhdlcConfigCrcMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.7.1.2.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The configured CRC mode of the interface.

What is xhdlcConfigCrcMode?

This read-write enumerated value configures the CRC (cyclic redundancy check) mode used for frame error detection on a particular HDLC-like interface, chosen among crc16(1), crc32(2), or crcnone(3), and defaults to crc16. An admin sets this to match whatever CRC mode the far-end device expects, since a mismatch would cause frames to be rejected as corrupted even when the link itself is healthy; crcnone disables the check entirely, which is rarely appropriate outside of testing. For example, an admin connecting to a peer that requires stronger error checking on a noisy long-haul circuit might change this from the default crc16(1) to crc32(2).

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.7.1.2.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> XEDIA-HDLC-MIB::xhdlcConfigCrcMode

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.7.1.2.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> XEDIA-HDLC-MIB::xhdlcConfigCrcMode.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.7.1.2.1.2.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> xhdlcConfigCrcMode.1
