Description: The maximum number of routed Networks in the internal Route Table. It is the maximum total number of Dest/Mask (network) route entries. Depending upon system configuration and the number of route entries in the route table that are destination addresses with multple masks, it may not be possible to have a route table with the maximum number of routed networks. If this variable is changed, it will not take effect until the box is reset.
What is xbgpConfiguredMaxRoutes?
This read-create INTEGER (0..500000), defaulting to 81920, sets the administratively configured ceiling on the number of destination/mask network route entries the internal route table may hold; because of how routes with multiple masks per destination are stored, the table may not always be able to reach this maximum in practice. Changes to this value only take effect after the box is reset, so an admin must plan for a reboot when raising it. An admin expecting a larger full-table BGP feed might raise xbgpConfiguredMaxRoutes to 200000 and schedule a maintenance window to apply it.
