Description: Slot mask defining which slots Console Interface is eligible to run on. The MSBit represents slot 1, the next most significant bit represents slot 2, and so on... Slots can be 1-14. If set to 0, then the Console Interface remains on the first booted slot. Default is all slots on a BCN. Affects only multislot routers with single physical console port.

What is wfSysConsoleSlotMask?

This writable bitmask, with the most significant bit representing slot 1 and so on through slot 14, defines which slots in a multislot router are eligible to run the Console Interface, applying only to routers with a single physical console port shared across slots. Administrators set this mask to control failover of console access between slots, and setting it to 0 pins the console to whichever slot booted first instead of allowing migration. For example, the documented default value of 4294705152 enables the console interface across all slots on a BCN chassis.
