Description: Since OAM loopback is a distruptive operation (user traffic does not pass), this attribute provides a mechanism to provide controls over whether received OAM loopback commands are processed or ignored. When the value is ignore(1), received loopback commands are ignored. When the value is process(2), OAM loopback commands are processed. The default value is to ignore loopback commands (ignore(1)).
The attribute has no meaning if the local OAM entity does not support the loopback function (as defined in wwpOamFunctionsSupported).
What is wwpOamLoopbackIgnoreRx?
This OID controls whether this interface honors loopback requests initiated by the remote OAM peer, defaulting to ignore(1) since loopback disrupts normal traffic. An admin sets this to process(2) only on interfaces where they want to allow a remote technician to remotely loop this port back for testing.
