wwpLeosMstpPortRestrictedRole

Module: WWP-LEOS-MSTP-MIB

OID (symbolic): WWP-LEOS-MSTP-MIB::wwpLeosMstpPortRestrictedRole

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6141.2.60.37.1.1.11.1.12

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: The value of the restrictedRole parameter used by MSTP. When true, the port will not be selected as the root port for the CIST or any MSTI, even if it has the best spanning tree priority vector. Such a port will be selected as an alternate port after the root port has been selected. When false, this port is allowed to be selected as the root port.

What is wwpLeosMstpPortRestrictedRole?

When true, prevents this port from ever becoming the root port for the CIST or any MSTI even if it has the best priority vector — it can still become an alternate port — useful for keeping the spanning-tree root path away from an untrusted or unstable link.
