wwpLeosBroadcastContainmentIgnoreRapsMessages

Module: WWP-LEOS-BROADCAST-CONTAINMENT-MIB

OID (symbolic): WWP-LEOS-BROADCAST-CONTAINMENT-MIB::wwpLeosBroadcastContainmentIgnoreRapsMessages

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6141.2.60.8.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: When this object is enabled, all configured broadcast containment filters will ignore R-APS messages when filtering PDUs. The default setting is disabled.

What is wwpLeosBroadcastContainmentIgnoreRapsMessages?

This controls whether broadcast containment filters exempt Ring Automatic Protection Switching (R-APS) messages from being counted or dropped as broadcast traffic. Admins enable this on rings using ERPS-style protection switching, since R-APS control messages are critical for ring failover and shouldn't be inadvertently suppressed by broadcast containment thresholds. Setting wwpLeosBroadcastContainmentIgnoreRapsMessages to enable(1) protects R-APS control traffic from being dropped by broadcast containment filters on this device.
