Module: WWP-LEOS-BROADCAST-CONTAINMENT-MIB

OID (symbolic): WWP-LEOS-BROADCAST-CONTAINMENT-MIB::wwpLeosBroadcastContainmentBytesDroppedStats

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6141.2.60.8.1.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter64

Access: read-only

Description: Displays the global dropped bytes statistics for all VLANs and ports. Not supported by SAOS 4.x or earlier releases.

What is wwpLeosBroadcastContainmentBytesDroppedStats?

This is a running counter of the total number of bytes dropped by broadcast containment across all VLANs and ports on the device; it isn't supported on SAOS 4.x or earlier. Admins use it alongside the packet-count counter for a fuller picture of how much traffic volume containment is actively suppressing device-wide. On a device running SAOS 5.x or later, a steadily increasing wwpLeosBroadcastContainmentBytesDroppedStats value confirms containment is dropping a measurable volume of excess broadcast traffic.
