Description: The value which must be reached or exceeded to trigger the engagement of the multicast containment mechanism.
To prevent containment engagement lockup, the multicast containment mechanism will not engage if the value of this is less than or equal to the value specified in wwpContainmentMulticastLowMark.
This value refers to the number of ingressing frames-per-second.
What is wwpContainmentMulticastHighMark?
This read-write Integer32 (0-2147483647) sets the ingress multicast frames-per-second threshold that must be reached or exceeded to engage the containment mechanism on this port, and the MIB notes containment will not engage if this value is less than or equal to wwpContainmentMulticastLowMark. Admins tune this to define what rate of multicast traffic counts as a storm on this specific port. For example, setting this to 8000 means containment engages once multicast ingress hits 8000 frames per second on that port.
