wsSwPeersPrecision

Module: WS-SW-AUTHENTICATEDNTP-MIB

OID (symbolic): WS-SW-AUTHENTICATEDNTP-MIB::wsSwPeersPrecision

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.388.14.2.12.1.14.1.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-only

Description: Signed integer indicating the precision of the peer clock, in seconds to the nearest power of two. The value must be rounded to the next larger power of two; for instance, a 50-Hz (20 ms) or 60-Hz (16.67 ms) power-frequency clock would be assigned the value -5 (31.25 ms), while a 1000-Hz (1 ms) crystal-controlled clock would be assigned the value -9 (1.95 ms).

What is wsSwPeersPrecision?

This read-only integer (-20 to 20) reports this peer clock's precision, expressed as a signed power of two in seconds; for example a 50 Hz power-line clock rounds to -5 while a 1000 Hz crystal clock rounds to -9. An operator uses this to judge the inherent accuracy of the hardware clock behind this specific peer.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.388.14.2.12.1.14.1.10
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> WS-SW-AUTHENTICATEDNTP-MIB::wsSwPeersPrecision

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.388.14.2.12.1.14.1.10.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> WS-SW-AUTHENTICATEDNTP-MIB::wsSwPeersPrecision.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> wsSwPeersPrecision.1
