What Is WATCHGUARD-MIB?

WATCHGUARD-MIB is the top-level enterprise root MIB for WatchGuard Technologies network security appliances (firewalls/UTM devices), establishing the OID namespace under which WatchGuard's product-specific management modules are registered. As a root/placeholder module it defines no OBJECT-TYPE instances itself -- no interface, performance, or environmental data -- serving purely as organizational scaffolding. It therefore cannot be used to monitor hardware or software status directly; that capability comes from the WatchGuard product MIBs registered beneath this tree (e.g., firewall session, VPN tunnel, or system health MIBs). Those dependent MIBs rely on this module purely for OID placement within the WatchGuard enterprise branch. In practice this module is only imported by MIB tooling and never polled directly against a live Firebox or XTM appliance, and administrators typically consult the WATCHGUARD-MIB reference simply to confirm the correct OID branch for a given WatchGuard product module.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WATCHGUARD-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • WatchGuard Firebox/XTM security-appliance product line, entire range (base enterprise OID registration, no data objects)

Monitoring Examples

WATCHGUARD-MIB defines only the enterprise root OID structure with no sample objects provided and no OBJECT-TYPE instances of its own, so there is no direct monitoring scenario to describe -- actual device telemetry would be exposed by WatchGuard's product-specific MIBs registered under this root.
