VOLUBILL-ROOT-MIB

Provides root OID registration and SMI hierarchy for Volubill policy and charging system MIBs.

This is a root registration MIB from Volubill, a vendor of telecom billing and policy/charging control (PCC) systems, establishing the top-level enterprise OID hierarchy under which Volubill's product-specific MIBs are registered. It defines only structural OID branches (the volubill root plus vlbProducts and vlbComponents subtrees) rather than any operational data categories. It carries no hardware or software status information itself - no uptime, performance counters, or fault traps - since its sole purpose is namespace registration for other Volubill MIBs to build on. A VOLUBILL-ROOT-MIB download by itself yields only this OID skeleton, with all pollable status and performance objects living in the vendor's product-specific MIBs registered beneath it. Every other Volubill product MIB depends on this module for its OID placement, making it a foundational prerequisite rather than a monitoring source in its own right. It is loaded on telecom operator billing/policy control platforms running Volubill software, as a prerequisite for the vendor's actual product-specific management MIBs.

This module defines only the volubill enterprise root and the vlbProducts/vlbComponents branches used to register OIDs for other Volubill MIBs; it does not itself define pollable status or performance objects, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe beyond confirming the OID tree structure that dependent product MIBs build on.
