This object provides a hint for the next index value to use when creating a new row in the trap target configuration table; it returns 0 if no new rows can currently be created. Admins or management applications use it, per the documented row-creation procedure, to know what index to use when adding a new trap target. For example, a value of 2 would tell an admin to use index 2 when creating the next trap target entry via SNMP SET.
