What Is V320-MIB?

The V320-MIB is a vendor-specific SNMP module for Sub10 Systems' V320 series microwave backhaul radios, used in point-to-point wireless transport links. It exposes objects covering RF link quality, receive power levels, terminal temperature, voltage, firmware version, and lock/synchronization state, plus a set of traps for link degradation events. It is explicitly built for monitoring the hardware and operating status of the radio terminal itself — tracking internal temperature, auxiliary voltage rails, receive signal power, and firmware version to catch overheating, power supply drift, or outdated software before they cause an outage. As a standalone radio-vendor MIB it does not appear to lean heavily on IETF standard MIBs, instead defining its own enterprise object tree for the terminal. It is typically deployed by wireless ISPs and cellular backhaul operators polling each radio endpoint in a point-to-point microwave link to ensure carrier-grade availability, relying on the V320-MIB MIB for that hardware telemetry.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using terminalLinkQuality OID:

Select a Sub10 Systems microwave backhaul radio as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type terminalLinkQuality into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, then select it and click OK. It reports a measure for quality of the microwave link. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an INTEGER-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the value is 'yellow', 'red', or 'unknown', since only 'green' indicates a healthy signal margin on this microwave link. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
