usrBRBaseBridgeFirewallMode

Module: Usr-bridge-MIB

OID (symbolic): Usr-bridge-MIB::usrBRBaseBridgeFirewallMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.429.4.14.1.11

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The Firewall mode determines how the bridge forwards packets when the Platform is enabled as a Bridge/Router. If set to 0, all enabled routed protocols are not forwarded over bridge ports. If set to 1, only unicasts not destined to the BRouter's are forwarded, and if set to 2, pkts defined in (1) and Broadcasts are forwarded.

What is usrBRBaseBridgeFirewallMode?

This controls how the bridge handles routed-protocol traffic when the platform is running as a combined Bridge/Router: 'discard(0)' (default) drops all enabled routed protocols from bridge ports, 'unicast(1)' forwards only unicasts not destined for the router itself, and 'all(2)' additionally forwards broadcasts; admins tune this when they need selective leakage of certain traffic between the routed and bridged sides of the device.

Examples

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.429.4.14.1.11
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> Usr-bridge-MIB::usrBRBaseBridgeFirewallMode

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.429.4.14.1.11.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> Usr-bridge-MIB::usrBRBaseBridgeFirewallMode.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.429.4.14.1.11.1 i <value>
