Module: Unisphere-Data-ADDRESS-POOL-MIB
OID (symbolic): Unisphere-Data-ADDRESS-POOL-MIB::usdAddressPoolNextPoolIndex
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4874.2.2.21.1.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-only
Description: Coordinate usdAddressPoolIndex value allocation for entries in usdAddressPoolTable.
A GET of this object returns the next available usdAddressPoolIndex value to be used to create an entry in the associated usdAddressPoolTable; or zero, if no valid usdAddressPoolIndex is available. This object returns a value of zero when it is the lexicographic successor of a varbind presented in an SNMP GETNEXT or GETBULK request, for which circumstance it is assumed that a new index allocation is unintended.
Successive GETs will return different values, thus avoiding collisions among cooperating management clients seeking to create table entries simultaneously.
What is usdAddressPoolNextPoolIndex?
This read-only value returns the next available usdAddressPoolIndex to use when creating a new entry in usdAddressPoolTable, or zero if no valid index is available, with a GETNEXT/GETBULK lexicographic-successor case also returning zero as noted in the description. Management applications GET it immediately before creating a new address pool, to know which index is safe to use. A value of 5 tells the admin's provisioning tool to use index 5 for the next new address pool entry, since indexes 1 through 4 are already taken.
