usrTftpClientRequestStatus

Module: USR-TFTP-MIB

OID (symbolic): USR-TFTP-MIB::usrTftpClientRequestStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.429.4.24.4.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The status of this row. Setting this object to enable(2) will cause a request (defined by usrTftpClientRequestAction) to be sent to the TFTP server. Depending on the type of request, this object will then be set to either getting(3) or putting(4). When the request is completed, this object will be set to normal(1) which indicates success. If an error occurred, this object will be set to error(5) and the usrTftpClientRequestErrorString will indicate the type of error.

What is usrTftpClientRequestStatus?

This read-write object drives and reports the state machine of a TFTP client request: setting it to enable(2) triggers the get or put defined by usrTftpClientRequestAction, after which it transitions to getting(3) or putting(4) while in progress, then to normal(1) on success or error(6) on failure, with usrTftpClientRequestErrorString explaining any failure. An admin sets this to enable(2) to kick off a configured file transfer and then polls it to track progress and completion. Seeing this value settle at error(6) after a get attempt tells the admin to check usrTftpClientRequestErrorString for the specific cause, such as an unreachable server.
