usrRemotePingDestination

Module: USR-REMOTE-PING-MIB

OID (symbolic): USR-REMOTE-PING-MIB::usrRemotePingDestination

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.429.4.37.1.2.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-create

Description: The host name or IP address (in dot notation) of the target destination being tested by this row. A row cannot be activated unless this object has a length greater than zero. When a row is activated, a request is sent to the internal DNS process to resolve the symbolic name into an IP address. That address can be displayed by querying the object 'usrRemotePingResolvedIPAddress'. If DNS fails, the object usrRemotePingConnectionStatus will indicate 'dnsFailed'. This object cannot be modified whenever usrRemotePingRowStatus is 'active'.

What is usrRemotePingDestination?

The hostname or dotted-decimal IP address this ping test targets; the row can't be activated until this is non-empty, and once activated the agent resolves it via DNS if needed (the result appears in usrRemotePingResolvedIPAddress) and this field can no longer be changed while the row is active.
