Module: UCD-DEMO-MIB

OID (symbolic): UCD-DEMO-MIB::ucdDemoResetKeys

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.14.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: A set of value 1 to this object resets the demonstration user's auth and priv keys to the keys based on the P->Ku->Kul transformation of the value of the ucdDemoPasspharse object.

Values other than 1 are ignored.

What is ucdDemoResetKeys?

This value, when set to 1, resets the demonstration user's SNMPv3 authentication and privacy keys based on a P-to-Ku-to-Kul key transformation of whatever passphrase is currently stored in ucdDemoPassphrase; any other value written is ignored, per the source description. This object exists purely for testing SNMPv3 key-change mechanics in the net-snmp demo MIB rather than for real production use. For example, an SNMP developer testing key localization might set ucdDemoResetKeys to 1 to trigger regeneration of the demo user's localized keys from the configured passphrase.
