trm75xxSpeedLimit

Module: TRANSMODE1100

OID (symbolic): TRANSMODE1100::trm75xxSpeedLimit

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11857.1.2.2.3.1.1.1.17

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: SpeedLimit75

Access: read-write

Description: This parameter indicates the speed limit set for this unit and is used to set a new speed limit. It generates an alarm and disables Line and Client Tx if the Client bitrate is higher than a predefined protocol. The alarm is ceased and Tx is enabled again at a lower value (hysteresis). Speed Limit is deactivated if trm75xxTxMode is disabled(2). Speed Limit can be set in 3 modes to allow different protocols: noLimit(1): Any protocol is allowed. lowLimit(2): 100Base-FX, STM1/OC3, ESCON & Video 270Mb. mediumLimit(3): All protocols above + STM4/OC-12.

What is trm75xxSpeedLimit?

A read-write setting, noLimit(1)/lowLimit(2)/mediumLimit(3), that caps which client bitrates are allowed through this unit; exceeding the configured limit triggers an alarm and disables both line and client transmit until the rate drops back below a hysteresis point, and the whole feature is bypassed while trm75xxTxMode is disabled. An admin sets a specific limit tier (e.g. lowLimit for up to STM-1/OC-3 rate services) to prevent an over-rate client signal from being accepted and causing downstream problems.
