tnPortFlowControlCurrentTx

Module: TN-PORT-MIB

OID (symbolic): TN-PORT-MIB::tnPortFlowControlCurrentTx

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.141.1.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: When Auto Speed is selected on a port, this section indicates the flow control capability that is advertised to the link partner. When a fixed-speed setting is selected, that is what is used. The Current Tx indicates whether pause frames on the port are transmitted. The Tx settings are determined by the result of the last Auto-Negotiation.

What is tnPortFlowControlCurrentTx?

This read-only INTEGER, enable(1) or disable(2), reports whether the port currently transmits pause frames, with the value determined by the result of the last auto-negotiation (or the fixed setting if a fixed speed is configured). An admin checks it to confirm whether this port will actually signal its link partner to slow down when its own receive buffers get congested. Seeing tnPortFlowControlCurrentTx as enable(1) confirms the port can send pause frames to protect itself from being overrun by the connected device.
